Radek, what jobs can you get with an Education Degree? I’m wondering, what can I do with an Education Degree?
Most students who pursue a degree in education go into education! But of course, this can mean many different things. Nearly all undergraduate education degrees will have a specific focus, e.g., elementary education, art education, or mathematics education. At the graduate level, you might earn a master’s degree or a Ph.D. in general education.
An undergraduate degree in education will prepare you to serve as a teacher, and you will have job opportunities in public or private schools. You might also find jobs working as teacher assistants or education technicians. A graduate degree will prepare you for specialization (e.g., literacy or special education) or administration.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the outlook for teaching jobs is good. Teaching can be a stressful job, and the turnover is often high. Job openings are often plentiful in urban and rural areas. In addition, a large percentage of current teachers are at or near retirement age.
However, not everyone with an education degree becomes a teacher. Some education majors work in publishing, creating educational books and aids. Some find their careers in creating curricula. Some even go into sales. Some even become private tutors or consultants.
To teach at the college level, you will need an advanced degree.
